This phone was listed with some other common stuff by a new seller with a low feedback number and a couple of negative feedbacks. I was hesitant to buy it, but having been burned by the "you snooze you loose" mantra of collecting, I opted to go ahead and gamble. I lost $350 in Vegas last month with nothing to show for it, so I figured I would try this one. The phone came today, and is actually quite spectacular.

All the nickel is good, the original wood bottom base cover is in place, the impossible to get red fibre terminal strip is there. Even the original switch hook spring is present. I was somewhat sure it had a 7 digit transmitter, which it does, but the neat surprise was the back cup, which is an early cup with the smaller font and earlier 1881 date. Also, the transmitter back cup is thicker than normal, and has been machined on the rim where the transmitter fits.

Looks like the phone has been sitting somewhere dry and dirty for many decades.
