New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed about 6 hours ago ( with a thanks to Pourme for the heads up ) in a 7 day auction with no reserve starting at a very high $1.00 is a AE Candlestick with a Sunburst dial. The seller seems to have hit on all phone issues in the description except it does not come with a subset. The seller provided a good array of internal detailed and external photos. From the photos, the black finish seems to be close to NOS. The transmitter face plate is pre-patent and only stamped with a "C". Within the first few hours of being listed, the phone attracted 4 buyers placing 5 bids driving the price up to $115.00. There is an upside to the current price, how much remains to be seen. So, what will this nice, old stick sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE: we will use a $5 gap rule between guesses again to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $5 away from prior guesses for this contest.

The seller listed it as an "Sunburst Automatic Electric "A" candlestick telephone" with the item condition as "used" and " - - - " and with the auction listing description saying "The Automatic Electric stick with the marked faceplate and "A" in hook is not all that rare; however the Sunburst dial is very rare. The last one that sold on ebay went for over 2000 but it was very nicely restored and rechromed. This one is missing mouthpiece, wrong receiver, replaced cord, no base cover, and the dial will need to go to Steve Hill to be cleaned and calibrated. I am taking a chance and selling this WITHOUT reserve and a dollar opening bid..... "

It's another chance to move up a rung or to get onto the CRPF -> Contest Standings <- list,

And the winner of Auction Contest #244 is Russ Kirk who with the 2nd entry into the contest offered the winning guess of $1,100.00 to give him his 7th auction contest win. It's been a while since his last win so a big congratulations goes out to Russ Kirk for another win in the CRPF Auction Contests and for moving up another rung in the Contest Standings.

This phone was listed at $1.00 and after 6 days, stood at $660. It jumped to $800 with about 2 hours to go. As the auction ended, a flurry of bids came in with 3 buyers placing 4 bids within the last 8 seconds with a high snipe by 2***8 ( 3923 ), his first and only bid, placed 8 seconds before end time which withstood the other 3 bids and he took the phone home for $1,083.00. The phone attracted 11 bidders placing 31 bids.
