New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Just listed in a 7 day auction with no reserve starting at $0.99 is an WE candlestick with possibly a #2 dial and a bulldog transmitter. The seller provided a some external images showing the condition and what appears to be brass under the black paint. Within the first hour of being listed, the phone attracted 1 buyer placing 1 bid so the phone will sell. The question is what is the upside so who best knows what this item will sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE:We will use a $3 gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $3 away from prior guesses for this contest.

The seller listed it as an "Antique 1920 Western ElectricBlack Brass Rotary Phone EXC NR!" with the item condition as "Used" and " - - - " and with the auction listing description saying simply "Excellent condition complete with phone line. Untested though. Looks like brass under black paint. Very nice antique phone."

Just a reminder that there are only about 6 hours left to get your guesses is.

With the holidays, both the bidding activity and contest guesses slowed down but not it seems eBay is picking up with the phone gaining 3 bidders and 10 watchers within the past 24 hours. And it is now the 7th highest watched phone on eBay.

Contest rules state all guesses must be in at least 24 hours before the auction ends so if you want to play, get your guess in soon.

The winner of Auction Contest #247 is wds, who with the 12th entry into the contest offered the winning guess of $165.00 giving him his 13th auction contest win. So, once again, our congratulations go out to wds for another win in the CRPF Auction Contests and for moving up one rung in the Contest Standings.

This auction turned out to be a steal for the winning bidder. The phone was won by r***h ( 729 ) who took the phone home for $153.50 by placing his snipe 2 seconds before the auction ended having no other snipes showing up for a fight. So this phone that was listed at $0.99 and rose to the low $100s over the first 6 days, then jumped up to $144 about a minute and a half before end time. The one snipe topped the earlier bid of $151 to win the auction. The auction saw 11 bidders placing 20 bids.

Check out the updated Contest Standings to see who's who through 247 contests and the latest additions to the CRPF Hall of Fame

Thanks again to all who played. As always, there is only one way to get on the winner's board or move up a rung - you have to play to win.
