You can use a spade to modular cord to hook up your GTE 120A or 120B payphone, and have strain relief as well...

For strain relief, you can crimp a "hook" style strain relief onto the cord where it will enter the set. A good securing point would be one of the screws that mounts the line terminal block on the base.

TIP: Use a 12 ft. or longer spade to mod. line cord to ensure sufficient reach to a jack, if one isn't immediately nearby.

Hook the strain relief on one the screws after loosening it, and tighten it down. Be sure to position it where it won't interfere with opening/closing the phone, or any other component. Connect the spades on the cord as designated in wiring diagrams.

If mounting the backboard first, dress the cord so that enough length is available to reach into the phone, and go out the slot at the backplate bottom to the jack it will connect to.

Once you have the payphone body mounted, follow the steps above for connecting it to the line cord.

Be sure to follow the steps for mounting and securing the payphone to ensure it is level, and the coin mechanism function will operate correctly after closing the set up.

Advice, corrections and suggestions welcomed.
