WOodward 4 telephone exchange?

Hello all;
I picked up a metal 302 at the Mercado de los pulgas in Miami. It was dated 8/40 and was all original including the number card on the dial, which was dated 8/40 as well. It said WOodward 4-7882. Any ideas?

Possibly here in Detroit.  Our forum master Dennis knows about the WOdward exchanges.

Detroit did have a WOodward exchange.  I have a few cards that are WOodward 1 and WOodward 2.  I don't know if each of them was from the same exchange.  I have a 1952 Detroit area phone book that shows the WOodward exchange.  I'll have to leaf through it and see if there were any WOodward 4's.  The TenProject web site does list a few WOodward exchanges but not specifically a WOodward 4.
