has anyone ever tapped out "untapped" screw terminals on telephones for "future" use? I tapped out the untapped holes in my 400 series phones as well as the back side terminal strips on the apperatus blanks for more screws so if I need the connection, its there... I scrapped out an old phone and saved all the 4-40 screws for later use, which are coming in handy for this purpose.... what do you all think about this??

IMHO that's legit as long as you're using the same thread specifications as the other screws in the same role elsewhere on the component in question.
