Collector George Ek of Arvada, CO passed away December 15, 2019. He was 89

I used to see George at the KS show. I visited him at his home twice over the years.

He liked to put clear bases on his candlestick telephones. He had a large library related to Telephony.

He was a fun collector to hang out with,
Jim

Thanks for the post. I remember George from shows.  It is a sad day when we lose any member of the telephone family.

agreed.
There are only so many to begin with, and losing some only makes the light dimmer.
And there will be no replacement...
Younger folk just do not care, and have no knowledge/history to pull from.
I would like to have a couple of the "runoffs" return. they certainly left a hole in the fabric.
I never met George, we don't have shows in Texas.
Nor have I met any of the members, but I appreciate the help I have gotten from the members here!
I do wish we had a few of the mad scientists back tho.
Even as grumpy as they seemed from time to time, they were out of the box thinkers. and we need them.
Cheers, and Beers! :)
