Seller Listing Title:  "1899 Western Electric #10 tapered shaft desk stand, long pole, 7 digit faceplate"

Condition:  "Used"

Condition Qualifier:  " Sold in as is condition "

Listing Description:  "Up for auction is an 1899 Western Electric #10 tapered shaft desk stand.  This telephone was equipped with either a beveled or flat transmitter faceplate and either a "long pole" or bipolar "pony" receiver.  The base cover design is the same as in the earlier #3 and #9 desk stands.  The #10 did not have a telescoping shaft.  This desk stand was the first high production upright desk stand to have hidden switch hook contacts. -- Long pole receiver - no chips, cracks or repairs -- Tapered shaft -- WE 7 digit flat faceplate #4852801 -- It appears to have the original nickel plating with normal wear on the tapered shaft. -- Sold in "as is" condition, please note the worn plating on the tapered shaft, I included specific pictures for you to evaluate.  Also included are specific pictures of the patent information on the back cup. -- Please look closely at the pictures as they give the best description and don't hesitate to ask questions before bidding."
