I don't know if I posted this subject before, but I thought I'd do it. I have several ITT 2576, AE 87A, and even a S-C 1800. If anyone is interested in changing out the mounting cords on these units, if you have them... here's how I did it....

first, get a color matching 25 ft. RJ45 cable. (color matching=telephone color) cut it in half and remove about 1" of the jacket on each of the cords... Spade all the wires.  then follow this simple wiring plan:

   Cable #1:
  Blue: T1  Blu/Wht: R1
  Green: T2  Grn/Wht: R2
  Orange: T3  Org/Wht: R3
  Brown: 10VAC  Bwn/Wht: 10 VAC (power)

    Cable #2:
  Blue: Lamp 1  Blu/Wht: Lamp 2
Green: Lamp 3  Grn/Wht: Buzzer (ground is common)
Orange: Signal Key   Org/Wht: Signal Key
  Brown: * Ringer   Bwn/Wht: * Ringer

*=spare leads are assigned to phone ringer on unused terminals and the bell assignment is determined at the jack or 66 wiring block
on ITT phones use: L1, L2. on all other brands use any spare terminals.

**note** because these cords are RJ45 "Ethernet" cords the orange/green leads are REVERSED.

this updates these phones to a modular connection and makes them easier to move around.... any comments???
