Working on a soft center dial phone. How do I remove it? Please let me know.

Tom, it comes off just like the hard center finger wheels.  Just stick a pin in the pin-hole at about the #9 position and while holding down the tab with the pin, or paper clip or whatever you have, turn it clock-wise.  It's best to first turn it all the way around to the stop before you depress the tab, then continue clock-0ise.  To put it back on, just locate the #0 hole over the #9, set it on the hub and turn it counter-clockwise until it snaps into place.

Once you have it off there should be a clip on the back side that holds in the dial card.  There are three flanges that hold the clip onto the finger wheel.  Just slide the entire clip left or right until it clears and it will fall into your hand.
