S&P shakers were made in several similar styles from phone parts made at Indianapolis.

I have a set of these WE salt and pepper shakers.  Notice that these caps have been specially drilled with S and P hole patterns.

Here are some of the black ones.  One uses handset caps for bases.  The other uses gongs for bases.

Rest easy.  I believe no telephones were harmed during the making of those salt and pepper shakers.

They were probably a fundraiser or Junior Achievement project done by a group affiliated with the Indianapolis plant and used parts pulled from the production line for that purpose.

Maybe thats why they are going so high, someone wants nice caps for thier Rose Beige 500 ;D
