Ray Kotke, the owner of a company that recreates beautiful phones from decades ago, agreed to share some links of pictures to his Picasa albums. Just click on the link, then on the first picture and then hit the right arrow control to see the entire album.

I believe he has been able to recreate the Extensicords used in some of these phones.

That is a good question. My impression is that you have to contact him and he will make you one in whatever color you want. That leads me to believe that his phones are cast not injection molded.

Ray does make extensi cords. You can order phones thru his telephone creations site, however the best way to do it is to contact Ray with your request. He gets pretty backlogged so It may take awhile until he can do a request.

Rays are cast with a plastic resin, All of the screw bosses ect are old parts from busted up phones.

He had a purple 302 at the Lyons show.

I beleive the old phone works phones are painted.

Jorge;
From what I've heard he uses silicone rubber molds, and liquid resins. He pours the resin into the mold and uses a vacuum chamber to remove the air bubbles. Don't quote me just what I've heard.
I've looked into it and to make a shell would not be terribly complicated, handset is another story. I'm still struggling with that part. Inserts for screws etc. also not real clear.
If someone wanted to make there own cases, in time they could get good at it. The initial expense would not be too high.
