Seller Listing Title:  "Western Electric Mahogany Brown Soft Plastic 500 Telephone Straight Cords 1954"
Condition:  "Used"
Condition Qualifier:  " - - - "

Listing Description:  " Out of my collection is this absolutely gorgeous 1954 soft plastic  Western Electric 500 in the rare color of (-54) Mahogany Brown.  This color was produced only for a few years in the 1950s, and is one of the most sought-after.  This is an exceptionally clean example, with all parts matching 10-54 dates.  It also has the early hard to find straight matching-color handset cord.  1954 was early for full color matching sets, and this is the nicest, cleanest Mahogany Brown set I've ever seen.  This set has no chips or cracks in the plastics.  The straight cords are in excellent condition; the only flaw I can see is one rough spot on the handset cord about an inch from where it enters the base. It is on the underside, and is not noticeable, and does not effect performance.  I have tested this telephone on a landline, and it makes and receives calls perfectly, just as it did 63 years ago when it was manufactured!  If you plan to use it, make sure your landline provider supports rotary pulse dialing. The dial turns very smoothly, and has the original number card.  The original suede leather feet show very light use, in fact, this telephone looks like new and does not show very much use at all!  This is truly a museum piece, and would be a shining addition to any collection.
