I picked this up at Brimfield last week on the cheap. I saw the door bell and felt it must have been to make an intercom. Close? Anyway, when I call it I get nothing, but if I press the door bell the gongs ring when being called....other wise it does not answer. I get no dial tone off hook. Any clues? It displays great. Any help is greatly appreciated....Doug

Ringer:
Red wire from pushbutton + one ringer wire are on G. Other pushbutton is on L1. So, when you push the button, you are momentarily connecting the ringer to L1. You just need to move the ringer wire from G to L1 and lose the pushbutton.
