Dan, I also have never seen one of those.  I have worked a few times with a G6 handset---for hearing impaired but in those instances the transmitter cups were modular.    Paul Fassbender has a few of those handsets listed on his site:

but I don't see any photos of the cups.  I'm sure that if you e-mailed him this photo he could shed some light on where/which handset it belongs.

I'll send it to him. It came inside a beige  500 from 1963, run of the mill.

I'm off playing in the hills this weekend, but when I get home I'll pull the cap out of my G6, it's hardwired, and see how it compares.
