Today I received a legit Japanese telephone I recently purchased on Ebay. It is the black desk model 600 A2 built in 1974. I am not sure what company built it as it has a different trademark indicated on the bottom. If anyone knows what brand it is I gladly would like to know. Also the dial in this phone spins REALLY fast.

Really interesting phone. Especially with that fast turning dial.

Could it be Taiko?

I think it is Iwatsu,They make key systems.

Also the sticker on the bottom has a date of April 1, 1960. Not sure of manufacture date or installation though.

You are right. I thought the stamp 74 may have been the year of production.

If you read the article I posted the link to, you'll see that OKI was the main manufacturer of this phone before 1970. I tried comparing the characters with OKI written in Japanese, but I cannot match it with any writing on the sticker.

So someone who reads japanese is needed, I guess.

I agree with rdelius, from my days installing key systems in the 70's, I recognized that stylized "I" logo as Iwatsu, a Japanese telephone manufacturer.
