I saw this on ebay and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this phone.... would it work on a 1A1/1A2 system? or does anyone know?
I believe this is a Belgian ATEA intercom phone.
It doesn't need a key system, it has it all built in.
Yes, it is an ATEA model 600.
It was connected to a small box with some simple switches, but most of the switching equipment was in the phone itself.
These telephones were connected together forming a small business network. It functioned without an exchange.
I doubt that it will function with a 1A1/1A2 system without major adaptations.

This telephone could be connected to 2 ordinary POTS lines, and could be connected to maximum 5 (10) similar telephones. The signalling to the 5 others was done bu dc signalling (buzzer) by pressing the button down, if it has 10 ext. lifting the 5 buttons rings the next 5 phones. Internal speaking on on common line. You did need a lot of wires. Each telephone had a relay/buzzer box and it was a DC power-supply located at a suitable spot. The signalling windows, (blinkers) indicated ringing, and in some systems if the line was busy.
