I'm a little pissed about USPS customer service as there is no way to write a mail or call from outside USA. I want to report/ask about an item with no movement indicated by USPS tracking for more than 10 days. Maybe it's stuck somewhere, maybe the ebay seller didn't write a correct address or whatever, but when going to the USPS side, customer service and click "mail us" I do have to fill in an US address, even when click priority mail international and being recipient! And I can't call as only number to call is a 1-800 number, not possible to call from outside the country.

Is there anybody here at the forum who can do me a favour and call the  1-800-222-1811 number and ask about my item, please? If anybody will be so kind helping I will give you the tracking number and my address etc via PM.

Thank you, Haf

p.s. the seller is not willing to cooperate and help me with this problem :(

Have you tried looking up the tracking number on the German post website?  I have found that, for packages sent internationally, the tracking information ends on one country's website at some point and then starts appearing on the other country's site.

Yeah sure I tried. Normally the USPS tracking is quite precise even when arrived in Germany. But you can track with German DHL too, even if still in the US. In this case it's stuck here: September 20, 2013 , 11:13 am, Arrived at Sort Facility ISC MIAMI FL (USPS).
And no movement since then. That is untypical and happens first time to me. And I'm receiving about 10-20 items from the US each month.

G-man, before you can submit the email you have to fulfill the form and you are forced to give a US postal Address with State and Zip code, even when you first clicked international :( If you don't you can't continue.
Of course I tried that out first before asking here, as I wrote in my initial post.

even if it's international, this number only can be called from within the US. Same with the 1-202-268-2284 number, only within the states.

Yes, but I also provided you a non-800 number to call at USPS headquaters in Washington, D.C.

Simply fill-in the mailing address of the U.S. seller.

Since they will be responding via your email address, who cares what physical address you provide?

maybe I have to leave out the first 1 when calling from abroad, give it a try now.

The '1' often shown at the beginning of North American phone numbers is not part of the number but rather a prefix which usually needs to be dialed before the number.  The '1' should never be included when calling from outside of North America.  The country code for the NANP countries is '1' though.

Larry

G-Man

"1" is the North American country code.

I assume you are calling from Germany.

If that is the case, here are the dialing instructions to call the U.S. from Germany-

00 + 1 + 202 + 268-2284

To call United States you have to dial 00 + 1 + Area Code + Number you wish to call.

Haf

yeah, it worked. Was a 5 minute call with an on tape help and after many questions just repeated what is written online at the tracking page, not very helpful and no chance to contact someone personally and ask detailed questions WHY it is still there for more than 10 days at sort facility Miami.

This side is directing to USPS tracking site with same information :( The item is still in the USA, DHL gives me same information, only in German, stuck in Miami since September 20.

Btw I checked daily, as I know that informations are sometimes delayed. In this case it is same information without being updated since when it first appeared in Miami.

This is the tracking number: CW553140618US

And this is what DHL says about: Fr, 20.09.2013 11:13 Uhr     USA     Die Sendung ist im Export-Paketzentrum eingetroffen.

I tried and called from normal landline and with the 1-800 doesn't work at all, with the second number it worked but only information was same as at their tracking site, computer generated voice. See posts above.
