...something that looks like a 500U, aka mushroom phone!
Ok, the story behind this. It's in an antique mall 2 hrs south of me. I was thinking/hoping that since it was just sitting there next to the lower-end phones and other stuff, it might be had for a steal, making the over 4 hour round trip (factoring in pit stops) worth it. But alas, just got off the phone with the vendor, he does his homework and said it will be going on ebay starting at $299. He has an ebay store called Tin Can Alley: http://stores.ebay.com/TinCanAlley1?_rdc=1
*insert whimper here* :'(
Really, really nice find, even though you won't be getting it. I am glad--however sad it is for us cheaper collectors--to see a seller that actually does his homework with phones. Most either think that the lot is too big, they should just sell it all as one for a high price, or think the lot is too big, they should all go on Trash Day.
Did he say he's selling them all on ebay, or just the ones that he considers valuable?

I think just a few are on ebay. He has another website that is in-house, but it's hard to browse because there's no search function: http://www.bagtheweb.com/b/V0OVfv
The secondary phone I was looking at is what appears to be an aqua-blue 500, but he calls it turquoise. It's right below the 500U. I already have an aqua 500, so I wasn't too interested in it. That one is also on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/302554287204
