Just won this off the bay for £5.99, no other takers.

"Bakelite phone in good order, know nothing about it, was working when I got it some years ago but sold as Sean spares repairs"

Have no idea what it is, or the make.

Looks like it could be wall-mounted by the look of the handset cradle.

Anybody here have any ideas?
"now this should take five minutes, where's me screwdriver went now..?"

It's a GEC Gecophone Junior Telephone:

http://www.britishtelephones.com/gec/tel1j.htm

Its all good, no nicks or cracks, just the white emulsion paint marks from where some clumsy decorator painted round it when it was wall-mounted somewhere (from Belfast?)

Designed for wall or desk, hence the curious handset cradle design, according to the link above runs off 4.5V.

I was initially disappointed the GEC plate was missing off it, but on taking the two front mount and one rear mount screws off to remove the case, the plate came off with it, it had been covered with a wide piece of electrical insulating tape, peeled it off and there it is in all its glory!

Now it looks more like this:
"now this should take five minutes, where's me screwdriver went now..?"
