This was in an ad for a local estate sale:

"Memphis style phone by Hollis Fingold 1995 "Radar Phoneys" decorated telephone - $145"

I see several similar ones have sold recently on ebay.

Think their yielding to the trash barrel made them that rare?

Wait what? "Memphis style? What does that mean?

It appears to be a lobster, with lips!

I must say, the artwork is great (other than the lips) but, ICK ... not on an innocent touch tone desk phone! I'd rather see all that work, just FLAT on canvas or paper, or metal, or anything but a telephone!  :'(

I was sent this link by a friend who knows I collect phones:

Notice the feet, and the 'wool' are telephone cords as well.

I'd feel bad living in a community connoted with such "art".

I have seen that photo before. It still makes me chuckle.
I think they did a really good job on creating the sheep, and then they made a flock.

Those sheep are from a different flock.
They might be considered Black sheep by some.

I wonder how many phone sheep  were created  'total'.
They are fun and entertaining , but take up to much space for me.

These "license plate" and "clock" phones are in a local estate auction.

The 'why created' question fills my mind. They are weird enough to be worth 5-10 (total) to me at a local auction. Only because they are weird, I collect oddball stuff, these would be 'conversation items' at a show.

Yes exactly. Why. So what's the deal with a "wall art" ?
Phone.,   and a clock phone?
Are people that desperate for a different phone?
Something done with taste would be far more sellable than any of the above. I guess hideous is the new vouge?
