Sorry about that. I am not sure either I use my IPAD to take the pics. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I appreciate the help. I like Old Phones not new technology.

I didn't see the unflipped photos -- were they upside down? Probably this bug:

As far as I know the only fix (as of now) is to hold the iPhone/iPad the other way when taking pictures.

Congrats on the phone score!

It's lovely. As a Brit I am not familiar with American models so what age is i? 1950s?

I see it's stamped "11-48" on the base, so it's November of 1948 vintage.

This is the type of handset that I utilize for a master in creating the tooling for my clear/colored F1 (solid) handsets.
In addition to having no grooves, one other thing that a lot of collectors don't notice about these brown bakelite handsets is that they have fine-threaded caps; not the coarse-threaded varieties on the other colored 302's.

A very nice find for that price indeed!

Like an idiot, I once passed on a 202 and matching painted 684 subset in this color (for $100.00). It was even equipped with matching GOLD cloth cordage!  I thought it was too much, and just didn't have it to spend at the time.
