With the last guess of the contest I'll enter a nice round number:

$1,000.00

As it goes, a phone flying under the radar, not bid up during the auction, gets sniped in the end. What an ending.

The winner of Auction Contest #292 is Jim S. who with the 5th entry into the contest offered the winning guess of $367.00 to give him his 5th win! Wasn't that close to the winning bid but closer than anyone else. So, a big congratulations go out to Jim S. for another CRPF Auction Contest win and for moving up one rung in the Contest Standings.

This phone, which turned out to be a rare Home Interphone was incorrectly or not fully listed in eBay by the seller. But those who knoe and collect and have these systems in their collection, knew what it was from the photos. So, for 6 of the 7 days it flew under the radar at $15 with 30 watchers. Rose to $83 a day before end time but that was still well under its market value. The phone received 3 snipes within the last 6 seconds and in the end, it was a very high bid ( maybe $5,000 to $10,000?) placed by c***- ( 538 ) a full 22 hours before the auction ended that was obviously higher than the snipes so he ended up taking the phone home for a mere $535.25 (the blue Interphone sold by LarryInMichigan about 4 years ago sold in the last 10 seconds for $1,525 - the color and condition may have helped in that auction). That ending hopefully made the seller happy. The auction saw 8 bidders placing 13 bids.

Thanks again to all who played. As always, there is only one way to get on the winner's board or move up a rung - you have to play to win.
