Metal 302 made in 1946

Here is a photo of a 1946 metal 302 I recently found on Ebay: Note the concentric circular marks just to the left of the hookswitch contacts in the photo.

A clue to a possible 1946 set is the felt feet instead of leather. On the ringer, there is usually one one steel gong painted black and one brass gong (unpainted). The shorter finger stop on the dial appears in 1945 or 1946. The cords are the later style weave, but with rubber covered wires (not the cloth covered wires used during the war).

Judging by the number card, I would say that this phone was installed between 1946 and 1959. The dial and cords were replaced, but apparently this was done in the field, because there are no recharge dates on the transmitter and all other dates match (4/46).
