Title: Durham Tel Mfg co 5 cent paystation
Post by: rdelius on January 04, 2016, 06:58:28 PM
Poplar 1 passed this listing to me for information.Don't know if a forum member got it. Might be the only one still around .Company was not in business long.1900 until at least 1902.No local information after 1902 but corperate reports until about 1906.1902 address 105 1/2 W Main st.Presant building built 1908 after the company closed.Sanburn maps show the company in a former tobacco warehouse at the corner of Foster and seminary st in 1902.By 1907 they are not in this building.Charles Egan the manager seems to have moved on because patents issued to him after 1902 are issued to the Egan telephone Mfg co in Ohio. His Durham Patents were mostly for paystations.ran out of attachments

Thanks for posting this. I watched this one, and placed a bid but it quickly went above my bid.  I couldn't find any info. about the company so I was hesitant to get aggressive on the bidding.  You're right, probably a one of a kind.
