Post your "Find of the Month" here.

A "Find of the Month" is a telephone or a related item that you acquired during the month that you are particularly excited about either because of its rarity, the difficulty you had in trying to find it for your collection or the exceptional "deal" that you got on it.

The "Find of the Month" contest is focused on the collection of telephones rather than on their sale for a profit. To be eligible for the "Find of the Month" contest:

- The finder must have personally acquired and actually own the item.
- The item can be acquired for free but it can not be a gift or present from anyone.
- The item (or any of its components) cannot be put up for sale during the contest period.
- Only one "Find" per owner can be in a "Find of the Month" contest.

A Nomination Should Include:

1) where and/or how the item was found.
2) the price & shipping cost.
3) the forum link to the topic discussing the find.
4) the eBay link if won there.
5) and other information of importance about the find.
6) one or two pictures of the item.
7) If the item is very cool to you for personal reasons, please share. This would be  your collection, birthday phone, phones from youth, basically, Why is that phone extra cool to you.

Ideally your item would be posted in its own thread elsewhere on the forum such as "Auction Talk", "Flea Market/Yard Sale Finds" or "Collectors Corner" Board. Then you or anyone else can nominate your "Find" to the Current "Find of the Month" thread by posting at least one picture and other details including the price paid, any shipping costs and a link to the original discussion on the forum. It is not a requirement that your find be posted elsewhere on the forum but the more details the better.

Nominations of phones listed in other forum discussion topics, by members that do not own the item but realize it is indeed a "find" worthy of being nominated as a "Find of the Month" candidate, are always welcome.

Please pick your best "Find" to submit for the month limiting your entry to one phone or one "Find" that might include limited multiple items. If you have already entered for the month and come up with something even better either submit your new find indicating that it replaces your previous entry OR you can enter your new Find in next months contest.

I'll start out this month to help one of our newer members get in the running.

I would like to nominate Scott's date matching 1954 Rose Beige WE 500 that he found on eBay with a BIN price of $48.50 plus $18 for shipping.

The phone has age related crud issues making it a bit of a restoration project but overall, it's in great condition and it came with straight, grey handset and line cords. One of the Big Four soft plastic colors at a very good price.

A discussion of the phone is posted at this link:

I'm going to throw in my newly acquired AE80, purchased from eBay for $8.99 plus $28.29 postage (came to £30.62 total after conversion).
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Monophone-Automatic-Electric-Black-Rotary-Dial-Desk-Phone-4-Ft-Cord/153319469517

I know it's not a rare thing in the USA but I've wanted one for ages and they just never appear on this side of the pond.  With the ones I see on eBay usually either the condition is poor and/or the price plus postage makes them just too expensive, so when this one came up I took a chance.  It's got nearly all of the features I wanted in one of these - old style chassis with rear entry handset cord, chromed metal plungers, and cords in good condition.  Ideally I would have liked a metal finger-wheel too, but at this price.....
As an extra bonus I was very pleased to find out when I opened it up that it has a straight-line ringer.  It all works very nicely. :D

I've discussed it here - http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=21715.0

I'm really happy with it.
:)

I would like to enter my 1940 Ivory Diakon GPO 332 with 1936 Siemens handset.

I gave this phone a good cleaning and replaced the handset cord, feet and the drawer pull.
Total cost for phone, new replacement parts and shipping was just under $200.00 CDN / $150.00 USD.
This phone also has a mirror inside the instruction drawer with a red GPO insignia which I have been told it is very hard to come by.

To add another option I would like to please submit this Panasonic KX-T7630E-B.

I thought I was buying a refurb unit to help program the Panasonic Hybrid-PBX system I am putting together but when it arrived it was new, still sealed, and in its original box.

Price £15, free delivery.

Thanks everyone for the votes. The phone cleaned up very well and looks great on display. And of course the prize money will come in handy with it being tax time. :)
