I've seen those installed on a couple of phones for sale locally.

Often times, the big patch between 0 and 1 will have some sort of advertising printed on it. Notice how it's a fair bit larger than it needs to be-for this reason. Presumably these would have been given out by local business.

We had those on phones around the house when I was a kid.  I think I may still have one kicking around with advertising on it.
