That was a COT telephone, before we got the brass bands to fit the SC handset.
I was watching that one also. The phone is painted, but the handset appears to be solid white. I'm guessing all the value is in the handset? Or maybe they just painted over the chip in the handset and it just looks like it's solid white. Hard to tell.
What am I Missing (http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=14388.msg149908#msg149908)? What about $150? ;D Quite a job to get this one nice?
dsk
It is all painted. The AE handset is what we used back in the 80s. All COT sets with the smaller design on the AE number card have the same flaw at the 11 o'clock position . This was never corrected in the master copy. This is a SC 1243 by the way
So what's the big deal about COT phones?
No big deal about COT telephones just that they are refurbished telephones, not always as built.
Oh, OK.
I was thinking they had some magical power or something...
COT was Chicago Old Telephones where Robbie worked for many years. They did quality work. Their Ivory painted phones were top notch, I am lucky to own a few of them....Doug
