I just got new Fiber optic service and the HG8245H that comes with the service supports pulse dialing.

Annoyingly, I got a Huawei router with my Vodafone service, and it had 2x FXS ports for VoIP, except they're no good a they're not enabled in firmware so can't be used... :-\

If I were in your shoes, I would start hacking away.

Already looked into it, the hardware and firmware in it are locked down and lobotomised to the point where trying to hack them just bricks the unit, can't even get custom firmware such as DD-WRT on the thing making it a bit useless as anything more than an xDSL wifi router with extra holes that do nothing... :-\

Bit like Sky satellite boxes here too, so many optional features that are cut off from use to keep them dumbed down......
