I just got a September, 1956 Northern Electric 302-all original and rare. Wondering if any members on this forum has found a 302 later than 1956, be it the Western Electric or Northern Electric version. Just curious. I know a member here found a plastic F1 handset dated 1969 here in addition to a 1975 WE Spacesaver phone as well. The 302 was pretty much old school and obsolete by late 1956 as 500 sets were now the standard phone of MA Bell to my knowledge.

i read on Wikipedia that the Western Electric 302 was made until as late as 1958.

I know in Canada that Northern Electric refurbished it's 302's for Bell Canada well into the 1960's, even with round neoprene feet and 500-style handset cords as well. I got a Northern Electric 302 that was used in Kirkland Lake in Northern Ontario in the 1960's with the round neoprene feet. They screwed on like regular 302 feet as well. My grandmother's first phone in 1961 was in fact, a refurbished Northern Electric 302 in Kirkland Lake as well. Thanks for the info on WE 302's being made until 1958:-) I'll bet there's very few 1958 WE 302's out there today though. One of those would be a real collector's item though as well.
