I know "Mothra" when I see it.  Cecropria is just it's assumed name so that Godzilla doesn't find it. ;)  Great photos, D/P.

Holy Monster Moth Batman!  We don't have anything that large here, of course we don't have any large bugs of any kind here at all.

We had cecropria moths on the Monterey Bay in central Calif. that looked just like that.  We could find the caterpillars and cocoons on cecropria bushes.  Very cool creatures. :)
