Not a Frankenphone, just a refurbophone! frankenphones are typically made up of many mismatched parts. Yours is basically correct other than being a mixture of dates.

Were ITT cases molded in color or were they molded and painted
if they were molded in color this one was repainted
because the inside of the shell is black and the
inside of the handset is butterscotch yellow

ITT/Kellogg made 500s in lots of colors.  It was not unusual though for telcos or refurbishers to paint phones to whatever color they needed.

And then later on as the number of available colors being offered was reduced I saw our (BC Tel) shops painting Colored phones black again just to get some more use out of otherwise good shells.
