Title: Western Electric 5302 ringer problems
Post by: Jf510 on November 20, 2017, 07:20:23 PM
I have two Western Electric 5302's I just bought recently that I am refurbishing. They both have the same ringer that I have not seen before or on any of my 302's. I am sure my wiring is correct. When I try and move the clapper with my finger it has very little movement. I feel a slight vibration when I call the phone. I cannot figure out how to adjust it. I loosened the nut on the top with no affect. I don't know what to do next. Any advice would be appreciated.

They have party line tuned ringers mfg by SC.Not for regular single line use. You might loosten the nuts to get some ringing.A AL ringer should not be hard to get

Thanks for that info..I think I have a few regular ringers I can swap but I thought I would ask to see if these could be adjusted first.
