What's going on with this auction? Is there something special about this dial? 3 bidders have it up to $100 with 72 bids. It is a good looking dial with a modification mark and a repro number tag.

Hey, why buy a whole phone for less with an old yellowed original card, when you can get a nice repro like this!

It was originally a 2A-type dial, with patent dates on the rim. The "W" was changed to "R" when the contact springs were replaced.
However, I doubt these are the contact springs that WE installed in 1941 when they converted the 2A to a 4H: By then, they were using twin contacts, and the new W would have been next to Y, rather than next to governor as shown here.

Still trying to find out if "TC" (as in "1041TC") stands for "Twin Contacts."

Just newbies bidding in $2 increments, nice looking dial. Dial plate looks newer and the dial card is just horrible. Nice dial going high!!......One Happy Seller....Doug

He could have gotten a nice 2AB for that price!

I've never seen a H in a square on a finger stop before. What is the meaning?

The "H" indicates the location of the Western Electric repair shop, located in one of the "Distributing Houses," but I don't know which one:

Here is a 4H dial from II 36 with "twin contacts" added in 1947.
