You know maybe it was in a smokers home? Still I don't think that would explain how the color is so even throught the phone but maybe over the years tobacco smoke got even in the crevices? I know growing up with both of my parents smoking, even the walls would discolor slightly from the smoke and pretty evenly too I might add.

Hmmm hard to say then. It would smell of nicotine I believe if it was in a smokers home.

The thing that really puzzles me are the cords. They are the same color whether protected from light or in the open, even doen the center of the handset, and they match the ivory color exactly, Like Bingster said ?
