What is this, really?

I've been watching for one of these Shadeland Works key fobs for awhile, but was a little confused by this auction.  It had a high opening bid & no takers, so I took a shot at it & won.  The auction calls the whole thing a give away item, but I think that someone just installed the fob on the zipper tab of an evening purse they bought somewhere else.  Maybe the owner worked at Shadeland, and the decorative piping reminded them of a handset cord--who knows.  The item looks too expensive to be a give away, & was obviously not made at Shadeland, where the fobs were manufactured.  Any thoughts?

Looks like a purse...two daughters and a wife. I like to borrow them on Saturday night, but that's another story :o
