Securing modular line cord in AE 40, what's the best way?

I am installing a black spade to modular line cord on a AE 40 that I am finishing up, and I know about the cord securing clip internally; my question is will it hold a 4 conductor spade to modular line securely, or should a "sleeve" be added to give the clip extra to grip the cord?

I don't have the cloth covered spade to modular line cords so I use the black spade to modular line cords to outfit my antique sets in black for use.

I usually just wrap the cord around clip or even tie or around.
