I have an extra 500 set ringer with Red,Slate,Slate-Black, and Black wires on it. How can I connect it tio the telephone interface box to create an external bell or bell box?

you can put the red wire to one side of the telephone line, the black wire to the other side of the telephone line .Now put a .5 or something close microfarid capasator rated at least 100v  between the slate and slate red wires

I found a .33 at 250 volts in an old computer power supply. I built a half-** box out of some wood scraps off of an old pallet that roofing shingles were delivered on. Its not quite the oak bell boxes that go for 80.00+ but it works. Thank you for the advice to use a capacitor. I will post pics when I figure out how to.
