And it comes with free junk too!!! ;D

99p plus £7.50 postage all in, most of it I doubt I'd bother with, but there's a few things in there that I can see aside from the PAP2T I would keep, the rest either back on the bay or sling in the bin...  ;D

Only reason I went for the PAP2T was a random idea of using the VOIP Intercom idea I found a couple of years back to ring into my 616 from an external phone and ring out from my 616 to said phone without tying it to a real line, and it has other potential uses too such as C*Net, but we'll see, needs a wallwart first... :)

Anyway, a picture:

Got the PAP2T (and associated box o' cr*p), and after some twiddling, I managed to get it to work as an intercom, even made a dial pattern so I can dial a number on one phone, and just pick up the other (handy for the manual GPO 706!!)... :)

While trawling through it's many menu options, I noticed it can do line polarity reversal on answer (Under "FXS Port Polarity Configuration" on each Line page), thought that could be a useful feature for those with payphones that use such a feature, assuming people don't already know about it, which I'm sure you guys do... ;D

Only issue I have with the unit is it needs to have an IP address or it deactivates the lines, not sure if there's any settings to change that, but I'm still poking it with a stick to see what's what... :)

As an intercom, you dont need an IP, just a specal plug tx to rx....
Yes this is the only way I have found to really detect answer (polarity reversal) for my payphone controllers (prototypes)

I've tried the loop-back plug, and although it recognises the plug as a "network", it goes into offline mode regardless so the lines won't operate for anything annoyingly...  :-\

Unless I need to set an IP manually and not via DHCP... ???

Okay, it made a liar out of me, it DOES accept my loopback plug, seems it needed a few minutes to realise I'm not hooking it up to a real network... ::)

Well, it seems the PAP2T works fine sans-DHCP Networking, the only issue I've found is the Handset 17A I have doesn't light up the neon bulb properly when ringing, so I guess there's not quite enough current there to ring both the bells and illuminate the neon lamp, but no matter, I was just testing different phones to see what does what... :)

Just a shame the PAP2T doesn't support rotary dialling, but you can't have everything I suppose (unless I went and bought a different ATA that does support rotary dialling!!)... ;D
