I have a Western Electric 1D2 Pay telephone that I would like to modify for home use.
Its the one with the  touch tone keypad and the Coin Return on the left.

Anyone have details on how I can wire the red and green wires to it to make it work?

Thanks

Sorry I don't know nuthing about no pay phones.  Maybe there is a wiring diagram at the Bell System Memorial web site.

I have to plead ignorant too when it comes to coin operated telephones.  The Telephone Collectors International has a "technical library".  In looking there there is some information about "coin collectors".  Here is the link:
http://telephonecollectors.org/library/weco/weco.htm

Scroll down to that area.  I would also recommend joining either or both the ATCA (Antique Telephone Collectors Association) or the TCI.  Membership will allow you to become part of the List Serve where many many very wise heads reside that have been at this for a number of years.  They are eager to share their knowledge.  The ATCA is www.atcaonline.com and the TCI web site is www.telephonecollectors.org

Good Luck!

I rejoined TCI today. Good group of guys there. Gary Goff, Ron Christenson and many others. Very knowledgeable folks.
