So far I only have an 80s BT Krone IDC tool and 286A linesman phone (well, there's also a Pye-TMC 1705 linesman phone too, but that's not official GPO hardware)... :)
That multi-meter looks a bit familiar .... Hmmmm.... :D

I think I've seen two versions of those, the 2nd is an updated version and is meant to be better performance wise (according to it's manual), and I like the look of it better too. Nice large BT logo. Have you managed to set your 286A up to test any of your pulse phones?

I've used it to test most of my phones on arrival, usually just transmission, reception & ringing of the new arrivals, dialling is tested by other means (Panasonic 308 or 616 systems)... :)
The BT engineer toolcase got a tidy up this week, along with the Tribbles (phones ;D).
I think there is just about every GPO/BT issued tool I need in here now. Nothing left to search for.
Thank goodness - no room left. :)
Photos of first and second inner compartments.
Very nice, Fab....impressive!
Benny
These days they just toss their tools into a canvas bag without any thought... ;D
Nice collection!
I am guessing most of these used to be Mr. Fab's tools?

Not a single one..... ;)
OK, that must have taken a lot of searching to find all that. Nice work!
Very nice FAB.
Seeing this post and went looking for my "B" Box. A little dusty as is been 25 years since I was a tech on the road....but here it is.
Old Phoneman never stop being Old Phonemen....they just collect old telephones!!....Doug
I thought I had just about everything in this tool case, but the search was on for various pliers, and after a few weeks hunting, found just what was needed. Each date stamped various years throughout 1950's, also stamped GPO.
A couple of items were found in the loft space......
......and a couple of screwdrivers had wandered off some years ago into the general toolboxes, I didn't even know they were there, so sneakily retrieved those to rejoin their cousins after much time apart.
So here is the latest 'Inside the Tool Case' pic.
:)
NICE! It looks to be just about complete, is it?
Thanks Harry. :)
I think it is just about complete, but there are a few old toolboxes I need to check through just to make sure nothing has slipped into them...
It is a bit tight in there now, closing the case needs a firm hand.

Tools are still turning up. This nice Cable Tacker still works a treat. Found with a few staples. Originally used by BT for cable runs.
Just about fits in the tool case. Really tight to close now, I may need to search for a BT toolbox for the overflow...
GPO/BT Wire Strippers, Crimping tool, on a leather GPO tool wallet.
The toolcase was over filled and more to go in so I had to find a second. Now there is room to spare.
( ohoh ;) )
This second BT (British Telecom) case is a slightly different version. The BT logo to front dates this case between 1981 to 1991.
The little GPO Spanners have already earned their keep. The Imperial and Metric sets I have usually don't fit, these are exactly right.
:)
