New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed about two and a half days ago in a 5 day auction with no reserve and starting at $25.00 ( with thanks to Fabius for a heads up on this listing ) is an interesting red 302 that could be a restoration project or a parts phone. Who knows? So far it has received 1 bid so it will sell but I'm sure it will it go higher? But, given the condition of the phone, and the rarity of the phone, how much higher? So, once again, who can best guess what this phone will sell for when the auction ends?

NOTE: we will use a $5 gap rule between guesses again to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $5 away from prior guesses for this contest.

The seller listed it as an "Red Western Electric 302 desk phones" with the item condition as " - Used " and " - - - " and with the auction listing description saying simply "Red Western Electric 302 desk phone. Has cracks in both rear corners and slight impact lines on both sides. complete otherwise."

NOTE:  There are only a few days left in the auction so not much time to get your guesses in.
Guesses will be accepted through 9 AM on June 10th, 12 hours before the auction ends.
A short contest but one worth playing.

And the winner of Auction Contest #211 is TelePlay, who with the 12th and final entry into the contest offered the winning guess of $60.00. That guess gave him his eleventh auction contest win moving him up one rung in the Contest Standings.

The phone started at $25.00 and other than getting two bids right away, sat at $27 until the end of the auction when it moved up steadily to $40 with 15 minutes to go. The auction saw 3 sniped within the last 6 six seconds and when the dust settled,  it was e***r ( 3398 ), who with his one and only bid placed just 4 seconds before the auction ended, took the phone home for $66.55. That was quite a deal for a red handset, straight red handset cord, dial with a soft center finger wheel and a base with what appear to be good condition feet. The auction saw 9 bidders placing 17 bids.

Thanks again to all who played. As always, there is only one way to get on the winner's board or move up a rung - you have to play to win.

Did anybody here buy this? It looked like a good price.
