Seller Listing Title:  "Western Electric Speakerphone 592 w/ KS14962L2 Control Unit & 758A Spkr 1955"
Condition:  "Used"
Condition Qualifier:  "Clean, Complete, Phone tested and working, control unit untested, see photos...."

Listing Description:  "Up for bids is the seldom seen Western Electric 592 Speakerphone.  The phone comes with its original Control Box, Western Electric type: KS14962L2 and remote speaker, type: 758A.  The phone is clean and in good condition with only a few scratches or light scuffs-it retains its original factory lustre and shine.  The phone itself is black plastic or bakelite.  It has a small crack on the back-visible in the photos and not too severe.  The phone appears complete within and also in good, clean, original condition.  The handset is the popular bakelite type: G1.  The phones (18) conductor cord is in good condition-it is about 5 feet in length.  The telephone push buttons, volume control and dial operate properly.  The Control Box is also clean and in good condition.  The electronics within also appear complete and in good original condition.  The 3V4 audio tubes are good, tested Raytheons, the two subminiature tubes are untested-they appear to be originals in good condition.  The Control Unit factory tag is in good condition with clear graphics, lettering and numerals.  The AC cord on the Control Unit is also in good condition.  The one foot Control Unit (21) conductor cord is also in good shape and remains attached to two terminal blocks-visible in the photos.  The phone and its components were in a dusty area-the cords have some dry surface grime, but they are in good shape otherwise and should clean up easily.  The control unit is untested.  The type 758A speaker reads about 12 ohms on my VOM and it makes some faint noises when the leads are touched with an old battery.  The phone was in a box among the radioman's estate parts boxes in a smoke and pet-free shop.  I hooked up the red and green leads to my house line.  The phone works for dial tone-it dials properly and calls out too! The speaker function was not tested.  Bid on the vintage speakerphone for your own collection or office desktop items.  These phones were not made in great numbers and this one is in good shape.  All the parts bear 1955 factory dates.  Offered for repair, parts or restoration and untested, except as noted.  About 20 Pounds well-packed.  NO RESERVE!! Low Starting Price! View the photos carefully and please send any questions you may have."
