Painting F1 Handsets Question

I've been having a ball stripping and painting D1 and 202 shells using rattle can paint. (BTW, I was using Rustoleum but have switched to Valspar. The latter sprays with a much finer mist making easier to lay on lighter coats with less risk of sags and runs)

After painting, I've bedn baking the shells in the oven which seem to give the paint a harder finish.

The problem is with the hand sets. The paint never seems to completely harden. To date I have not placed a painted handset in the oven but I think it's time to try.

Curious to know your experiences painting handsets and if you have similar issues. I previously raised the question of baking Baklite in the context of low temp powder coating. I would imagine the handset doesn't care if it's paint or powder.
