Title: No Ring on Western Electric 500 with 425E network...Need Help Please!
Post by: socalkevin11 on November 11, 2011, 01:15:04 PM
Just got a red western electric 500 from ebay..and it works great..just no ringer...i've read and read on here before finally joining...ok...I can read the schematics pretty good..and tried everything possible...I cannot locate the proper schematic for my phone which has the NET 425E network...as I think it is wired differently as to make it ring.
Can someone with experience please help me...I took a few pix of the wiring and i'm trying to post ..as soon as i figure out how.
Just a quick note..the green wire coming from the jack from wall must be hooked to the RR or F terminal inorder for me to get a dial tone...i think this is where my problem is...as in all the diagrams i've looked at it doesnt show it there...
Thanks in advance for your help.

According to BSP 501-135-100-I4 the 425D & 425E networks are electrically the same. Looking at diagram 500cd_tl from the TCI Library if you have to hook L1 (Green) up to RR or F that means that hookswitch contacts E-D are not closing when the handset is lifted. You might want to see what is going on with that set of contacts. Good Luck!

got it working...none of the wiring diagrams worked so i started doing a process of elimination thing just putting the wires in random places..and finally after like 5 hours..it worked....everything, dialed out, rang nice and loud and sounded perfect.
thx guys
