Ray K. just posted the following on the TCI and ATCA lists:

Quote"It is with great sadness that I am writing this note to let you all know
that we lost a great, GREAT man today. At around 5pm this afternoon, Paul
lost his long battle with cancer.

He specifically stated that he did not want a funeral, but his family will
let us know if and when there will be a small memorial in his memory later
this summer.

I will miss that crotchety old man forever! Gene Doom and I really grew to
love him as a dear dear  friend over the years, and had many good times on
our trips out to see him and Mary.

Goodbye my friend. I will never forget the wisdom and knowledge that you
shared with us."

Paul J. Vaverchak -  Dec 28 1935 - May 25 2014

Paul was the telephone collector's friend, a source for just about anything payphone. I knew him only from a few phone calls, but will miss him greatly. It is a sad day for all telephone collectors. Paul earned the admiration and respect of all of us.

Paul was a long time resident of Pillow, PA., and the owner of PT Supply there. He passed away late yesterday after a long illness. He was well known amongst both telephone and lock collectors.

Bless his family and close friends, and may he rest in Peace.

I am sorry to hear of Paul's passing.  I too had never met him or spoken with him.  I did purchase many phone items through his daughter, Adele who was always most friendly and spoke fondly of her father.

My condolences to his family and those of you that were his friend.

Oh that is too bad. I am looking at an AE Touch Call 3 slot payphone that I had looked for for a long time until I finally got one from Paul. Rest in peace Paul.
