*** The "Find of the YEAR" for 2021 ***   VOTE FOR THREE

It is time once again to vote for the VERY BEST "Find" from all of the "Find of the Month" winners through 2021.

Take a few minutes to go through the list below. John "TelePlay" has created one post per entrant along with the brief details, a link to the original nomination and the separate topic on CRPF if there was one, and has included one picture of each contestant. The pictures are from the Find of the Month Winners List that John maintains of all of the winners.

There are twelve contestants to choose from so lets do THREE VOTES EACH and see who wins the coveted (limited edition) "Find of the YEAR - 2021" trophy!

Everyone should be able to come up with three favorites here so please try to use all THREE of your votes. If you inadvertently vote for less than three contestants, click the "Remove Vote" button at the bottom left of poll and then place your THREE VOTES again.

Thanks John for taking the time to put yet another "Find of Year" contest together. Much appreciated!

Jim . . .

Kenton K posted this about it:

Hi guys! Its been a while since I've logged on to this forum. I still love collecting, but I'm just not as aggressive as a few years ago. This week I found a pair that was just too exciting not to share. These two were technically separate purchases, but I bought them within a day of each other, both locally, so I consider them 'one find'. I got a rose beige 500 for $20, and oxford grey 501 for $30. Talk about a luck! I've been looking for an oxford gray for years!!! Can't believe I finally found one in my neighborhood. So I'm showing off my dark beige and grey western electric 500 sets purchased locally for $50. Find of the last two year for me!

Here is the original Find of the Month nomination:
http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=24862.msg246402#msg246402

FABphones posted this about it:

I have been lucky - a factory clear Stromberg Carlson 1191 - the first clear telephone to enter my collection. Fragile, and prone to distortion and breakage, luckily this one has survived the years in nice condition. A good example of a hard to find phone. These were made as a special order phone - most usually as a clear salesman's sample. Price approximately $90 including shipping.

I bought this hard to find P/U 500 mushroom phone for just £31 (approx $42) + postage. This one has done a bit of travelling as was purchased in the UK, making it an even harder find. Date on base is 11-59.

This nomination is for MMikeJBenN27's Ivory 302.

MMikeJBenN27 said: "Bought this PRE-war ivory 302 off of E-Bay.  It cost $350.00, shipping was $30.35.  I grabbed this because pre-war colored plastic 302s are super rare.  As you can see, it is correct in all details.  I replaced the cords because I need a longer line cord, and I want to use that AE Extensicord that I have had laying around.  I kept the originals."

FABphones' Red Cobra Ericofon originating from Denmark for $20 US.

Here is the original Find of the Month nomination:
http://www.classicrotaryphones.com/forum/index.php?topic=25597.msg251660#msg251660

FABphones posted this about it:

Another European phone, this one a nice red Ericofon, originating from Denmark. Ericofons were not one of the most popular phones there, and red is one of their lesser found colours. The dial face is particularly interesting with a 'C' adjacent to '1'. The phone is in good condition, and still retains it's original part curly/part straight line cord. Price was £15 ($20).

For your vote consideration please, I will nominate this beautifully designed AE34. A nice example which has not been brassed out, with the older style flat grille Spitcup. No damage to the Bakelite, and those fragile side vents remain intact. Remarkable, as besides it's age, this AE34 has done quite the journey to reach my collection - travelling by train, van, car, plane and boat - having also crossed two Oceans.
