I acquired this very nice early 18" x 17" flange independent with heavy porcelain ledging which I'd judge was from the 1920's - 30's in 4/2018 from the widow of a longtime collector. What I found very interesting is the makers mark that says" International Independent Telephone Association " I always thought these marks would be of commercial sign makers. Has anyone else seen an independent sign with this makers mark?
Thanks,

Very nice sign with good color. I believe that the Independent Telephone Association (a trade group of independent tel cos and co-ops) bought signs and other items in bulk from the manufacturer and thus got a better price allowing the Association to re-sell the item at a lower price to member companies and co-ops then what the small company could buy a small number of an item for from the manufacturer.
