I have 3 options for the operator set for my Pony board.
Which fits better?
Purists hang on tight!
We're goin off the ranch a bit.
Space is a ...???...THE... factor...lol. not much of it.
I am likin the AE 40 myself. It has the smallest footprint!!! :) :) :)
but, no ringer, or magneto. :(
Next, is the Victor.
seems to be configured for local signal, but CB voice? ???
I can fix that, nice low profile.
Third is the N1224C.
Kinda tall, and ...UGLY!!!!!!! :(
I bought it for this project, thinkin it looked smaller in the pics...WRONG!!!
It is a BEAST.
I could always put the guts inside the lower part of the pony board.
Prob what will happen.
opinions?

I like AE 40's so I would likely choose that of the three.
Or, poss one of these? Nice phone, v small footprint.
Stromberg Carlson. I'll try and get a better pic and dimensions from mine if that helps.

I was hoping for something like a WE Trimline.  Do you have something like that?

RB

I have been readin bout those SC's, and others of that vintage.
I like the small round or oval footprint.
Would need a subset inside bottom box.
Price, however, is much beyond me.
I could use a trimline, but would require a bit more work on the board.
Tryin to keep this one simple...well, as simple as I can be, considering I cannot seem to find well enough.
I like options, not limits.
This little doll is fun to play with.
Thanks for the comments.

I would go for the AE 40 and an inductor in the cabinet  ;)

Got a Magneto from a Victor, started preparing the box for a side crank.
need a 90 for my drill. holes tough to drill in oak.
Installed a cord and plug in the AE 40. smallest footprint, so DSK, you win the poll. :)
Found the Batt terms, and installed a temp batt pack.
Tested it and it works very well.
Looks good sittin there too. even before a shining.
Tested the magneto, and it too works well.
Got to get it installed. then, this babe will be just about complete.  8)

Build an electronic ringing power supply into the AE 40.  If there is no bell in it there might be room on the baseplate.
From what I've been following on your project, maybe an EE8 fieldphone without the case may work. Ain't pretty but it has a small size.

eventually, I may install the op phone inside the lower box, but for now, I am very happy.
The op set needs no ringer, as the board has extension drops, and ring off drops.
And, one VERY annoying buzzer  :o
The first time I hurd it, it made me jump lol :)
