I have a WE 500 in the turquoise color. The cord that came with it is aqua blue. Did WE supply this as a replacement cord? So far, nothing coming up online.

The first question is:  Is you phone really turquoise or is it aqua?  Many aqua phone plastics have "faded" to turquoise due to UV exposure.  Cords tended not to fade as much.  Many of us have bought "turquoise" phones to fill out our color collections only to find they were really aqua.  There's some discussion here, among other places:

Checking and comparing the color both outside and inside should tell the story.

Replacement cords were available from the Bell System and other companies.  You should be able to find them from on-line phone sources such as Oldphoneworks.com.

You may also be able to find one on a damaged Princess set.  Turquoise was one of the showcase colors for the Princess, so turquoise sets were more common than other models.

I'm looking for the handset cord. I didn't mention it in my first post. The phone has dates of 10-72 on the network, base, dial, and ringer. The plastics are all dated 79. The outside and inside of the housing are the same color, and match the dial.

I'm looking for a NOS code 64 WE cord.

With plastics from 1979, you likely have a modular refurb. So is it a modular handset cord you need? Please post a picture or two of the phone, taken in decent light, with one shot showing the inside of the handset. It would help a lot and show exactly what you need.

Paul's site says turquoise was discontinued about 1978, so you could have a very late example of that color. If it's a modular handset cord you need, there are eBay sellers with some available still in the original bags, but turquoise is not easy to find. Somewhat popular in Princesses, it was never popular in 500 or 554 sets. I can't remember the last modular turquoise 500 I saw. Most turquoise 500s are from the 1960s.

The URL to Paul's site is in his post. It's an excellent resource.

Yes, a modular handset cord is what I'm looking for. I would post a picture, but I tried to post some a few days ago. They didn't pass a security check? ???

Post them one at a time to find the offensive one.  Also, sometimes pictures from a cell phone are unacceptable.  The new system seems to prefer small pictures from a digital camera.

I have a blue-ish coiled cord you should look at; may be what you need.

Tina, that's for a trimline phone with the older (non rj-11) modular connection. It would be very hard to use it on a 500 set.

Thanks for looking out for me Tina.
